A well-preserved monument of folk architecture right in the middle of Liberec.

Liberec at the end of the 18th century was a renowned centre of textile manufacture. The textile manufacturers had their houses built on land plots with access to water they needed for the factories, i.e. in particular on the Nisa River. The wooden, timbered house owned by Bedřich Šolc, a cloth merchant, was built in 1771. The house is a distinctive example of the craft and skill connected with carpenters in the Ještěd region at the end of the 18th century.

At present, the house is operated by the PLA Jizerské Hory Administration Office.

Locality: next to the House of Culture.
