The City Museum is located in the building of the Town Hall. One of its interesting sections focuses on the history of the Frýdlant Region and its surroundings. Visitors will also find products of nature, archeological excavations and an exposition on the history of crafts here. The Museum was established in 1893 by Julius Kraus, master potter. The Frýdlant Town Hall, the seat of the Museum, is a dominant feature of Masaryk Square, i.e. also of the city centre.
Expositions: armoury, coins, medals, badges, coats of arms, furniture, musical instruments, clocks, metal, china, glass and earthenware dishes, clothes, craftsman's tools, ecclesiastical items, minerals, library, shooter's shields, archeological discoveries, local fauna.
The exposition has the following parts:
1. entrance corridor - a small gallery of authors from the Frýdlant Region
2. walkway - the exhibition of rifles, an execution sword dating back to the 17th century
3. room of natural history - herbariums of the local botanist, Gottfried Menzel, and bicycles from 1850 and 1880
4. traditional room - model of the old Town Hall, tools of individual craftsmen, guild attributes, richly carved furniture dating back to the 19th century
5. rustic room
6. patrician room with a Baroque secretaire and furniture
