Regional certification
Dear customers, when finding accommodation for your holiday or for a business trip you frequently look for a guide that would simplify your choice. The Liberec Region offers this guide in the form of Quality Seals, which are conferred to the accommodation facilities on the basis of Regional certification of service quality. Compared to other evaluation systems the Liberec Region Regional certification of accommodation facilities endeavours to take into account not only the scope of services, but also the overall impression of the establishment with regard to its type. Regional certification endeavours to take into account the frequently neglected fact that the services of every establishment are given by its character. When evaluating a mountain chalet or a congress hotel it will evaluate different aspects.
What is Regional Certification?
The “Regional certification of accommodation facilities“ project was launched by the Liberec Region in 2009 so as to simplify your orientation in the range of offered accommodation facilities.
What types of accommodation were evaluated?
Any accommodation facility from the following categories could participate in the project: Hotel, hotel garni, Motel; guest house; Private accommodation.
What are the criteria for acquiring individual seals?
On the basis of an evaluation each of the registered accommodation facilities was conferred a bronze, silver, gold or diamond seal. The best quality facilities received the TOP DIAMOND rating. The evaluation comprised both technical and qualitative (smartness of the exterior, signposting, above-standard services, etc.) sections. Specific items that were evaluated are given in the appended evaluation forms (you can view the evaluation forms below this text).
How can you recognise a certified accommodation facility?
Every accommodation facility has a sticker on the door bearing the quality seal, or a certificate in the entrance area.
Which quality seal is suitable for my purpose?
Bronze Quality Seal
Represents simple accommodation facilities in the tourist category, usually without an offer of additional services, i.e. accommodation facilities such as apartments, guesthouses with a lower standard of furnishings and private accommodation with dormitories, are usually classified in this category. The facilities usually only provide accommodation. Guests usually arrange meals themselves in equipped mini-kitchens or make use of the offer of restaurant services in the surrounding area.
You can usually expect the following scope of basic services in these facilities:
- Table and chairs
- Soap or liquid body wash, 1 towel per person
- Contact person present at the specified times, available by telephone non-stop
- Shower stall + WC on the corridor per max. 10 rooms (if not in the room)
- Wardrobe, shelves or drawers for clothes
- Replacement of bed linen and towels at least once a week
- Night table or shelf with appropriate lighting
Silver Quality Seal
Represents accommodation facilities comparable to the Bronze Seal with additional catering services in the scope of breakfast or half-board. Sanitary facilities are usually part of the room. Accommodation facilities may receive a Silver Seal even if they do not provide additional hotel services, but their standard of furnishing is high for example – i.e. newly modernised rooms or apartments, etc. Buildings with an exceptional location or authenticity, for instance stylish cottages, localities with exceptional natural scenery, etc. are classified in this category.
You can usually expect the additional following services offered at these facilities:
- TV including remote control or the option of loaning a TV
- Catering in the scope of half-board (unless the rooms are equipped with a mini-kitchen)
- Sanitary facilities in the room (shower stall + WC + wash basin)
- Replacement of towels at least once a week or on request
- Guest reception area (reception or other suitable area)
Gold Quality Seal
Represents accommodation facilities providing a wider range of services and with a higher quality exterior and interior. These accommodation facilities usually offer catering services and other supplementary services. They have a very personal approach to customer requirements and willingly satisfy even unusual requests by their clients.
You can usually expect the following additional services offered at these facilities:
- Guest reception area (reception or other suitable area)
- Reception services or contact person present at the specified times and available on telephone non-stop, communication in a foreign language
- Internet access in the rooms or in public areas
- Catering services (with the exception of individual apartments)
- Reserve pillow and blanket in the room or on request
- Additional social – entertainment centres or common room
Diamond Quality Seal
These accommodation facilities offer a high standard of accommodation and catering services and their exterior and interior also satisfy the requirements of demanding clients. They usually offer additional supplementary services such as congress areas, sports facilities, relaxation and wellness.
You can usually expect the following additional services offered at these facilities:
- 24 hour reception services
- Inquiring about and evaluating guests‘ suggestions
- Restaurant with “À la carte“ menu open 7 days a week
- Internet connection, WiFi, wireless in the room
- Safe in the room or storage of valuables in a central safe
- Replacement of bed linen and towels twice a week, daily or on request
- Room service on request
- Car park within the guest house complex
Top Diamond Quality Seal
Accommodation facilities offering a standard of services on level with international hotels and an additional wide range of catering and supplementary services.
You can usually expect the following additional services offered at these facilities:
- Personal care products in bottles
- Internet
- PC in the room
- Safe in the room
- Ironing service
- Telephone wake up call
- Luggage porters
- Reception open 24 hours a day, multi-lingual personnel (Czech / at least 2 world languages)
- Spacious reception lobby with seating and beverage service, hotel bar
- Minibar
- Room service on request
- Restaurant with “À la carte“ menu, open 7 days a week
- Congress areas
- Sauna, hairdresser
- Personal guest care
