The chapel to house the statue of the Virgin Mary, found by local native Mr. Bittner, was built as early as the 16th century.
From that moment on she was worshipped by the inhabitants of the entire region. However, recent decades were a period when reverence for the Virgin Mary fell into oblivion here. Fortunately, in 1990 the tradition of the pilgrimage to the chapel on Mariánská hora was revived. In May 1994 the chapel was damaged and the statue of the Virgin Mary stolen. Yet, the local parishioners had a new statue of the Virgin Mary made and the chapel re-consecrated during the following pilgrimage in 1995.
