The Blatný Pond is located on the Blatný brook on the blue tourist trail from Nová Louka to Kristiánov.
The pond was built in 1780 for the purposes of an estate sawmill, and until 1897 it used to be the only water reservoir in the Jizerské Hory. The estate sawmill, so-called upper sawmill, used to be near the pond; later it was leased to private businessmen. After 1920, the water from Blatný Pond was used for driving of the dynamo that supplied electricity for the gamekeeper's lodge at Nová Louka.
